Susan Law, Lifelong Social Justice Warrior, 1945-2021
It is with deep sadness we share the passing of one of our own, Susan Law, who died after a brief but brave battle with pancreatic cancer. Susan was a consummate social justice warrior: a fierce advocate, a fearless activist and a skilled collaborator. Through her work with the Angry Tias and Abuelas, Susan has impacted innumerable families, many of which credit her with saving their lives. As people reach out from all of the different circles in which Susan was a part of, it is evident she had a way of making everyone feel like the center of the universe. Little did we know, it was us who had the privilege of being caught in her precious orbit. And this is why the loss feels so profound and the grief limitless. We hold tightly to the Compa Wisdom that Jennifer Harbury, Susan’s long-time friend and fellow Tia, passes on to us… Susan is now part of the Bridge of Courage, she joins all the other warriors who have gone before us. In this way, her contributions to the fight will not be forgotten, and she will not be left behind. So we march on, porque la lucha sigue (because the fight continues). Susan Law - ¡¡PRESENTE!!
